While Republicans are busy trying to actually tear down democracy, there are difficult realities facing America that could really use their attention. 55 million Americans are living in poverty, approximately 1 in 6 Americans are now food insecure, and up to 40 million renters are behind on payments. It took nine months to give Americans $600 of their own money back. This relief bill is pathetic, it’s shameful, and it needs to be fixed.
