Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is providing an update Friday morning after Hurricane Helene made landfall over the state’s Big Bend area as a Category 4 storm Thursday night. The storm quickly weakened as it moved inland early Friday and was soon downgraded to a tropical storm.
